Questions

What does Lychee fragrance oil smell like?

Pure lychee — juicy, sweet, and lightly floral.

How much Lychee fragrance oil do I need for a candle?

Use 5–10% of the candle’s total weight. For a 200g candle that’s 10–20g of Lychee (about 10–19ml). There is no IFRA limit for candles. The calculator above works it out for any size.

How much Lychee should I use in wax melts?

Use 5–10% – that’s 5–10g of fragrance oil for every 100g of finished melts. Check the maximum your wax can hold.

Can I use Lychee in a reed diffuser?

We don’t recommend it. The IFRA maximum for reed diffusers is only 13.66%, which is too low for a good scent throw.

Can I use Lychee in soap, lotion or perfume?

  • Soap: yes – 3–6% (IFRA maximum 16.66%)
  • Body lotion: yes – 0.5–1.5% (IFRA maximum 2.18%)
  • Face cream: yes – 0.1–0.5% (IFRA maximum 2.18%)
  • Perfume: yes – 5–8.53% (IFRA maximum 8.53%)
  • Lip balm: not suitable

Soap, lotion and perfume are cosmetics, so each one needs a safety assessment (CPSR) before you sell it.

Is Lychee fragrance oil hazardous?

Undiluted, Lychee is classified under GB CLP with the signal word Warning:

  • H317 May cause an allergic skin reaction.
  • H319 Causes serious eye irritation.
  • H412 Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

Candles, wax melts and diffusers you make with it may need their own CLP label. Full details are in the Safety Data Sheet.

Is Lychee fragrance oil flammable?

No. Its flash point is 75°C, so it isn’t classified as flammable. Like any fragrance oil, keep it away from naked flames.

Will Lychee discolour my wax?

It’s unlikely. Lychee contains no vanillin or ethyl vanillin, the most common cause of discolouration. Always test with your own wax and dyes.

Is there a CLP label for Lychee?

Yes. Our free CLP label creator makes a ready-to-print label for candles and wax melts made with Lychee. Safety Data Sheets, IFRA certificates and label files are in the documents above.

Are your fragrance oils vegan?

Yes. All are 100% vegan with no animal-derived ingredients.

Can I use them in electric diffusers or oil burners?

Most can. Where suitable:

  • Electric diffusers – add a few drops to the water, adjusting to taste.
  • Oil burners – mix 50/50 with dipropylene glycol (DPG), or add a few drops to water in the well.

How do I use the 100ml bottles?

They include a blind plug to prevent leaks in transit. Either pierce the centre with a pin or biro to use it as a dropper, or remove the stopper, pour, and replace the plug.
