Iris Noir Fragrance Oil
A floral oriental — bergamot, almond, incense, iris, rose, vanilla, opoponax, benzoin, tonka, leather, musk.
The scent
A sophisticated opening of fresh bergamot, powdery almond and mysterious incense sets an immediately dramatic tone — elegant and slightly smoky from the first moment. Iris and rose unfurl through the heart, artistically framed by vanilla and precious opoponax, adding a rich, resinous warmth that deepens the classic floral pairing. Benzoin, tonka and smooth leather build in the base, delivering a long-lasting, refined finish that lingers with quiet authority. Timeless and theatrical — a fragrance that carries the weight of a vintage wardrobe and the intrigue of a candlelit evening.

Undiluted, Iris Noir is classified under GB CLP with the signal word Warning:

- H411 Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
Candles, wax melts and diffusers you make with it may need their own CLP label. Full details are in the Safety Data Sheet.

No. Its flash point is >100°C, so it isn’t classified as flammable. Like any fragrance oil, keep it away from naked flames.
Will Iris Noir discolour my wax?
It may. Iris Noir contains vanillin (0.5%), which can turn wax, soap and other bases cream to brown over time. Test before bulk pouring – see our vanillin guide.
Is there a CLP label for Iris Noir?
Yes. Our free CLP label creator makes a ready-to-print label for candles and wax melts made with Iris Noir, and for reed diffusers. Safety Data Sheets, IFRA certificates and label files are in the documents above.
Are your fragrance oils vegan?
Yes. All are 100% vegan with no animal-derived ingredients.
Can I use Iris Noir in an electric diffuser or oil burner?
Yes.
- Electric water diffusers (ultrasonic or humidifier style) – fill the tank with water to the line, then add 3–5 drops per 100ml of water. Start low and add more to taste.
- Oil burners – mix 50/50 with dipropylene glycol (DPG), or add a few drops to water in the well.
Important – look after your diffuser:
- Fragrance oils are concentrated, and some plastics used in diffuser tanks can soften, cloud or crack if oil is left sitting in them. This depends on the plastic the diffuser is made from. It happens with any concentrated fragrance or essential oil, not just ours.
- Empty the tank when you’ve finished. Don’t leave water and oil sitting in it between uses.
- Rinse and wipe the tank every few uses, as fragrance oils can leave a film.
- Check your diffuser’s instructions to make sure it is suitable for fragrance oils. If it says essential oils only, or doesn’t say, ask the maker before using it.
How do I use the 100ml bottles?
They include a blind plug to prevent leaks in transit. Either pierce the centre with a pin or biro to use it as a dropper, or remove the stopper, pour, and replace the plug.
