The scent

Bergamot and lemon open with bright, clean clarity, lifted by a spike of pink pepper and the cool bite of eucalyptus. Pine needle and orris root take it somewhere more resinous and grounded — earthy, sharp, and unmistakably fresh. Sandalwood brings a quiet creamy warmth to the base that stops it feeling too sharp and gives it excellent staying power. A versatile, contemporary woody-fresh scent that earns its place in spa and wellness ranges year-round, and brings a crisp, outdoor quality to autumn and winter collections, Father’s Day gift sets, and everyday diffuser lines.

Questions

Common questions

What does Arctic Pine fragrance oil smell like?

Fresh woody-aromatic with citrus, eucalyptus, pine needle, and warm sandalwood. Top notes: bergamot, lemon, pink pepper, eucalyptus. Heart: pine needle, orris root. Base: sandalwood.

How much Arctic Pine fragrance oil do I need for a candle?

Use 5–10% of the candle’s total weight. For a 200g candle that’s 10–20g of Arctic Pine (about 10–20ml). There is no IFRA limit for candles. The calculator above works it out for any size.

How much Arctic Pine should I use in wax melts?

Use 5–10% – that’s 5–10g of fragrance oil for every 100g of finished melts. Check the maximum your wax can hold.

Can I use Arctic Pine in a reed diffuser?

Yes. Use 15–25% Arctic Pine in a reed diffuser base such as Augeo Clean Multi. The IFRA maximum is 26.37%. Ready-made reed diffuser CLP labels and an SDS are in the documents above.

Can I use Arctic Pine in soap, lotion or perfume?

  • Soap: yes – 3–6% (IFRA maximum 26.37%)
  • Body lotion: yes – 0.5–1.5% (IFRA maximum 34.71%)
  • Face cream: yes – 0.1–0.5% (IFRA maximum 6.15%)
  • Perfume: yes – 5–20% (no IFRA limit)
  • Lip balm: not suitable

Soap, lotion and perfume are cosmetics, so each one needs a safety assessment (CPSR) before you sell it.

Is Arctic Pine fragrance oil hazardous?

Undiluted, Arctic Pine is classified under GB CLP with the signal word Warning:

  • H315 Causes skin irritation.
  • H317 May cause an allergic skin reaction.
  • H411 Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

Candles, wax melts and diffusers you make with it may need their own CLP label. Full details are in the Safety Data Sheet.

Is Arctic Pine fragrance oil flammable?

No. Its flash point is 92°C, so it isn’t classified as flammable. Like any fragrance oil, keep it away from naked flames.

Will Arctic Pine discolour my wax?

It’s unlikely. Arctic Pine contains no vanillin or ethyl vanillin, the most common cause of discolouration. Always test with your own wax and dyes.

Is there a CLP label for Arctic Pine?

Yes. Our free CLP label creator makes a ready-to-print label for candles and wax melts made with Arctic Pine, and for reed diffusers. Safety Data Sheets, IFRA certificates and label files are in the documents above.

Are your fragrance oils vegan?

Yes. All are 100% vegan with no animal-derived ingredients.

Can I use Arctic Pine in an electric diffuser or oil burner?

Yes.

  • Electric water diffusers (ultrasonic or humidifier style) – fill the tank with water to the line, then add 3–5 drops per 100ml of water. Start low and add more to taste.
  • Oil burners – mix 50/50 with dipropylene glycol (DPG), or add a few drops to water in the well.

Important – look after your diffuser:

  • Fragrance oils are concentrated, and some plastics used in diffuser tanks can soften, cloud or crack if oil is left sitting in them. This depends on the plastic the diffuser is made from. It happens with any concentrated fragrance or essential oil, not just ours.
  • Empty the tank when you’ve finished. Don’t leave water and oil sitting in it between uses.
  • Rinse and wipe the tank every few uses, as fragrance oils can leave a film.
  • Check your diffuser’s instructions to make sure it is suitable for fragrance oils. If it says essential oils only, or doesn’t say, ask the maker before using it.

How do I use the 100ml bottles?

They include a blind plug to prevent leaks in transit. Either pierce the centre with a pin or biro to use it as a dropper, or remove the stopper, pour, and replace the plug.
